WELCOME TO THE 2009-10 BAND SEASON
We have several Committees that have no one to run them at this time. The reason for the openings is
because the parents that were the Committe Chairs had senior students last year and they no longer
have a child in band at GHS.
Our Band Parents Organization is mostly supported by the events and fund raisers that the parents
head up. They are nothing new to the program, so instructions and help would be provided if you
volunteered. Alsok more than 1 person can Co-Chair a committee.
Please consider this as an opportunity for you as a parent to be involved with your child. If you can’t
be a Committe Chair or Co-Chair, there is always room for help.

PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP FUNDRAISER / MEMBERSHIP LISTINGS
We are currently seeking supporting members of the Greenwood Bands. For any donation your name will
be listed in the over 4,000 concert programs for the year showing your support.
Your donation will be supporting the Greenwood Bands and helping defray individual band member
expenses (band camp, uniform, travel expenses, etc.)
Donations range from $10 to $50. For more information see the May/June Newsletter.

BAND PORTRAITS & BUTTONS
Marching band portraits were taken during uniform fittings on Saturday, June 13th. Makeup sessions
will be held at a future date. Portraits and buttons may be purchased during Friday home Football games
or by contacting Bob Porento at bob@porentophoto.com or 317-882-7443. Order forms are available in
the May/June Newsletter.
STUDENT PICK-UP
Please do not park anywhere along the curb when picking up your students. Having a line of cars along
the curb causes traffic flow problems. Also, the students need easy access to put up equipment after the
end of each practice.
Instead, please park in the lot and wait for the students to come to you. Thanks for your support!

PARENT SURVEY
This purpose of this survey is to help better understand parents strenghts so that the officers and committee
chairs within the band parent organization can do a better job of matching volunteer positions with the
background of individual parents. We sincerely hope that you will help the organization by volunteerin your
time. By doing so you will directly be helping your child with their participation in the Greenwood Band]
Program.
A policy has been put in place for the remainder of this school year concerning the credit a student receives
